Riceville PTO Calendar and Committee Descriptions
**The Chair of the committee may be one person or a group. They need to attend all meetings for that activity and need to organize all parts of the activity.
NOVEMBER
18 and 20 - Book Fair 3:15- 7:30 – You help with sales.
DECEMBER
5 and 6 - Santa Shop - Helping to set up and run the shop. This has been a popular location to purchase gifts for family and friends.
JANUARY
17 - BINGO - One of three dates, we join to party out the winter blues. Come be a caller or help organize. It is always exciting!
FEBRUARY
21 -BINGO - Second of three dates, we join to party out the winter blues. Come be a caller or help organize. It is always exciting!
MARCH
10 and 12 - Book Fair – This is late afternoon and runs until the end of conferences. You help with sales.
20 - Carnival– Family fun night! The more helpers, the more fun!
21 – BINGO - Last of three dates, we join to party out the winter blues. Come be a caller or help organize. It is always exciting!
MAY
12- 8th grade plays - Help serve treats and refreshments the night of the plays.
JUNE
5 and 6 - Garage Sale - This annual MAJOR event needs MANY workers!
OTHER
National Education or Teacher Appreciation Week – What a great time to thank the staff that work with our children!
Baking – Needed throughout the year for many different activities. Mainly we ask for bars or cookies.
Open House (Next year) - You will contacted in late summer to help with this.
Classroom Volunteers
**Do not request a special class. In an attempt to help a teacher, please let us know where you can be of service. The teachers send home requesting help for their classes as needed, this is for time you would be willing to help weekly.
Classroom help – I will help with projects, assessments, or whatever the teacher needs help with.
Copy/cut/prep – I will help with the little time consuming things they need. (Could be done from home.)
Testing – I know how to help with testing and am willing to do it.
Assemblies – I would be willing to come help if a large assembly needed it.
Need advance notice – I can help, but I need to plan ahead!
